Inspired by classic French architecture, this project combined the relaxed traditional style of a country home with a sea of pristine white.
The island and open shelving in the kitchen were crafted from white oak and then worked with a custom-blended stain to achieve a distressed, antique appearance. Face-framed cabinets create an elegant finish with classic shaker doors, all finished in Benjamin Moore’s Dove White in a highly durable polyurethane paint, and birch plywood interiors are bright and clean. At the client’s specific request, the lower kitchen cabinets were built with a flush furniture base—without a toe kick—which creates a smooth line of sight, as well as avoiding the collection of hidden dirt or dust in the corners. The naturally finished beams and built-in hutch infuse a rustic feel, balanced by the bright white of the mudroom and laundry room. Completed in 2020, Maison de Lee is timeless, classic and elegant.
